Suspect in tequila thefts from NW Portland restaurant sought

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect believed to have stolen 16 bottles of tequila from a Northwest Portland restaurant on Thursday.

According to Portland Police, a man smashed the front glass door of the Casa del Matador Restaurant & Tequila Bar, at 1438 Northwest 23rd Avenue, around 4:45 a.m. Thursday. He then kicked out a wood panel in the door to the storage room where the tequila bottles are kept, police said.

The man stole 16 bottles worth more than $3,000, police said. He also rummaged through desk drawers.

Police released surveillance video showing the theft in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
