Handicapped man robbed in Marigny

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for the man caught on camera allegedly robbing a handicapped man in the Marigny.

According to NOPD, the 69-year-old handicapped man was walking near the corner of Touro and Royal around 11 a.m. on Sept. 11 when an unknown black man approached him from behind and pulled him into a bear hug. The unknown man then stole his wallet, containing a driver's license, debit card and cash, and fled the scene.

Police released surveillance video of the incident hoping the public can help identify the unknown robber. He is described as a black male wearing a black ti-shirt, khaki pants and white shoes.
