Game of Death sounds like a game I wouldn’t really want to play, but thankfully, it’s a movie, not a real game, and one you might want to watch. Starring Wesley Snipes as CIA Agent Marcus, this film keeps the action steady throughout the film. Marcus infiltrates an arms dealer operation and becomes the head guy’s (Robert Davi) bodyguard. Right when the CIA is about to bust the arms dealers, a couple of them decide to take matters into their own hands by trying to kill everyone and steal all the arms dealers’ money. Marcus is caught in the middle between the arms dealer baddies and his rogue CIA friends. I’m not going to lie, people get killed, in a big way, so prepare yourself.
It’s great to see Snipes back in action! Also getting in on the action is stunt woman Zoë Bell and Gary Daniels, so the cast is great. Even though the action kept up throughout the film, it was very low key and run of the mill action. There were a few hand to hand sequences that would make any girl lust after Snipes, but other than that, it was a lot of peek-a-boo around the corner and a shooting technique I like to call “spray and pray.” Game of Death is out on DVD/Blu-ray.

I plan on watching this over the weekend — that’s disappointing that there’s peek-a-boo aimless gunfights for the most part.
It’s dopey in my opinion, when they get two actual martial artists in a movie like this and then have most of the action revolve around gunplay.
