How: Build your Business Owner Toolbox: business concept and strategy, market analysis, risk management, written business plans, financial management systems, and business plan financing options. The Planning for Success workshop offers a robust business development program for direct market sales, based on the 'Planning for On-Farm Success’ curriculum, developed by a partnership of the Community Food and Agriculture Coalition (CFAC) of Missoula County. What: Planning for Success: Farming and Food Entrepreneurship Workshop presented by MSU Extension, Headwaters RC&D SBDC/FADC, NCAT, and the Mission Mountain Food Enterprise Center Where: Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Who: Farmers, ranchers, and other growers/producers interested in starting-up, expanding, or transitioning their business with direct market sales (U-pick/On-farm, farmers’ markets, CSA, restaurants, food cooperative, value-added etc.) When: Feb 25, 25, 27, March 4 Day 1, Thursday, February 25, 1:00 pm-6:00 pm, Classroom: Writing a Business Plan, Market Analysis, Market Differentiation, Risk Management Day 2, Friday, February 26, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Classroom: Financial Statements, Risk Management, Financial Planning Day 3, Saturday, February 27, 9:00 pm-12:00 pm, Field Trip: Tour of an Local Indoor Grower’s Operations We’ll take a week-long break to do homework from Day 1-3 then return in one week. Day 4, Friday, March 4, 8:30 am-3:00 pm; Classroom: Concept to Consumer (safe food handling), Financing, and Risk Management
