SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A 46-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison without parole for raping his mentally impaired neighbor.
William James Scott, aka Willie Sally, admitted to forcing himself on the woman, who has Down Syndrome and the mental capacity of a 5-year-old.
On Oct. 2, 2011, the woman’s sister found their apartment entrance blocked by their deep freezer. When she went inside, she found Scott raping her sister.
Although Scott asked the sister not to tell police, she later identified him to investigators, who also had DNA evidence of the crime.
Scott lived in the same apartment building as the sisters.
