Corinth Police Find Disabled Being Neglected and Abused in Private Residence

Police say a Corinth man has been arrested after abusing, restraining and neglecting three disabled individuals in his home.

According to the Corinth Police Department, 39-year-old Dorian Mallory has been arrested with two felony counts of injury to a disabled individual and one felony count of unlawful restraint.

Officers said they were responding to a disturbance call for a separate matter Monday in the 3700 block of Parkwood Drive and found that the private residence housed mentally and physically disabled people in deplorable living conditions. One of the residents had been locked in a closet when police arrived.

The Department said Mallory was under contract with a home health care provider called "Pat's Place" and was being compensated by the provider to care for the three individuals.

Police called Denton County Mental Health and Mental Retardation and Adult Protective Services to the scene to assist in the investigation that has revealed signs of on-going abuse and neglect.

The Department asks citizens who live near private residences used to house the mentally and physically disabled to report any type of abuse or neglect.

Mallory is being held at the Denton County Jail.
