The IDF Rabbinate invites the Standing Army families for Hanukkah activities at the Latrun IDF Armored Corps museum and monument, about halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on the route 1 highway. The families and children will be able to tour the site, participate with thousands of IDF soldiers in the traditional candle lighting, and have some jelly doughnuts. On every day of Hanukkah there is a public Latrun candle lighting on a 20-ft candelabra, a performance of the IDF rabbinate choir featuring IDF Rabbinate Cantor Shai Abramson, conducted by Moshe Mona Rosenblum. Thousands of soldiers from various IDF divisions arrive to participate in the event. Senior Public figures are expected to participate in the Sunday ceremony, including President Peres.
