Man charged with assaulting handicapped person

ASHEVILLE — An Asheville man is accused of striking a handicapped person.

Michael Aaron Hall, 30, of the 400 block of Bulldog Drive, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault of a handicapped person as well as two traffic offenses, according to warrants at the Buncombe County magistrate's office.

Hall assaulted and struck a handicapped person by slapping her in the face Wednesday, warrants state.

He also received charges of no operator's license and lack of proper inspection, warrants state.

The Asheville Police Department investigated.

Hall was being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $3,000 secured bond.
