According to HPD Sgt. Greg Phillips, who initially handled public information on Friday's case, if a juvenile is charged as a juvenile, they go to Cheltenham Youth Facility, if they are held.
"A juvenile charged as an adult goes to the [Prince George's] County Jail, but is segregated form the general population," Phillips said. "This is general information only and not an indication if and where suspects in any ongoing case may be held."

When police arrest a juvenile, the DJS normally gets a report about a month later. There would then be an intake hearing with the offender and their parents, a representative of the DJS said.
