Two Egyptian police officers were killed in a militant attack in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Assiut.
A police patrol came under fire by wanted gunmen in Dayrout, 350 km south of Cairo, leaving two young officers dead and a third injured, Assiut security chief Abu al-Qassim Daif said in press statements.
It was not immediately clear if the attackers were arrested.
