Easy to Clean

To clean, squirt a small amount of dishwashing liquid into blender jar or cups and fill halfway with warm water. Attach blade assembly. Run on Low for 15 seconds. Repeat, using clean tap water. Carefully disassemble parts and empty blender jar or cups. Rinse and dry all parts thoroughly. Finally, wipe the motor base clean with a damp cloth to remove any residue, and dry thoroughly.

Had this about a week and love it so far. The picture I'm showing is a smoothie made with fruit juice, a zuccini and cucumber from my garden, and a handful of frozen berries bought at the grocery store. Took just a few minutes to put it all together. Most days I go home for lunch and I've been prepping my protein shake in the morning, putting it in the fridge, then at lunch dropping it on the blender. I make a fruit smoothie to eat when I'm back at work and take it with me. It's really helped me cut down on eating out because it's so simple and quick. It is pretty loud but it's a blender so really don't expect different.

I've had this for over a couple of years now. I really like it. Very flexible. You can chop nuts or veggies in the smaller unit or blend a smoothie in the drinking glass unit. The interchangeable options are very convenient. It's not heavy like glass blenders, but I haven't found that a negative at all. I really like how you can go instantly from blending a smoothie to screwing on the drinking lid for breakfast to go!

I have been using this product for almost 13 years and love it! When the blending blades were getting dull and the seams were starting to leak, I decided to replace the entire unit. I didn't realize I been using it so long with no issues! I looked at other brands reviews, prices and options but decided to stay with something I felt really good about and got the same brand and model. Blenders are loud for such a short period of time, so it doesn't bother me that it's loud. The size of the cups is perfect for my husband and I to make smoothies. I hope that in another 13 or more years from now Cuisinart will still be making this blender so I can replace mine if needed!

I was considering buying another magic bullet and left a long and detailed review of my use of that product over a nearly 5 year span, thankfully I chose this instead! I have now been using this a little over a month 1-2 times every day and love this thing. I am going to compare it directly to the MB as it is something I am very familiar with.

Pros:
-Actually chops frozen items and ice (mixed with liquids/solids anyway) I would not use this on ice alone but it might be able to handle it -- not
going to risk it. Magic Bullet always left little chunks of ice/frozen food.
-Works in a hurry, a couple pulses and then run 5 seconds or so and a THICK smoothie is to be had.
-Quieter than the Magic Bullet (significantly so, especially with ice)
-Easier to clean (but not by much), the threads and support ridges are easier to clean on the cups.
-Seal works better on attachments - no leaks! And the O-ring is protected by deep ridges keeping that from getting torn up.
-Comes with the blender cup without spending extra.
-Portable cups with lids you can drink through like travel cups.
-Looks nice and fairly classy sitting on the counter.

There are no cons compared to the MB, but there are some "ties" and things that aren't perfect, this will address many of the negative comments I read while I was researching this product.

-Hard to clean chopping/blending base: This is esentially the same problem with all the mini-blenders (MB) sorry folks, but the beauty of the design is also the achilles heal of the design, and you are going to have to pull the O-ring out and wash underneath it periodically. If you want to leave dirty stuff in the cup with the attachment sealed to it you will get some stank fromunda-cheese brewing in and around this thing. My recommendation is to try to rinse out the cup and shake or blend it with the base as soon as possible after using it, you will still have to pull the O-ring (use a dull knife to work it out of the slot) out every couple of weeks and rinse/wash both the O-ring and the base underneath. Bleach may help and may lengthen the amount of time you can go inbetween, but once you see the gunk that builds up it will be hard to enjoy your frozen latte afterwards.
-Noise: Like I said, quieter than the MB and about the same or slightly less than a regular blender, but you are chopping frozen stuff -- it isn't going to be quiet.
-Smell of electronics burning: I did experience this slightly with the first couple of uses, but it went away after that. Just gotta burn that new wire smell out of there. I think the manual mentions something about only running it for 6-8 seconds at a time which is probably a good idea with this much power in this small of a motor.

It is possible that time will tell a truer tale and that many of the 1-star reviews were being 100% honest and I just have gotten lucky so far, but I have been extremely happy with this product and the quality of shakes/smoothies/frozen drinks it creates.

I started with a 3 star rating on this product, I am upgrading to 4 stars now that I have owned it longer. The first paragraph is my original review, the rest is the updated review.

I am thinking about sending this back. I have figured out how to keep it working, but, it is a sub par product and I think it needs to be re-engineered/re-designed. You have to be careful to start with low pulse, then high pulse then low blend and finally up to high blend. Once on high blend stand close and if you smell heat shut it off. If it gets to hot it turns it self off automatically, so, it doesn't just stop working altogether. And, its fun. My kids love picking ingredients for their smoothies. I generally make the base of the smoothies in the 32 ounce pitcher and then pour it over their hand picked ingredients in the personal cups. It sleek and handsome in the kitchen. It has a nut blade. I guess I am in denial...lol. Its not a very good product. sigh.

I wanted to add to my previous review as I have had the blender a little longer. I accidentally damaged the lid just a bit after writing the first section of this review. Not enough damage to impact performance, but I am uncomfortable returning something that I know we have damaged, so, I kept the blender. I bought another blender for green drinks because this system cannot handle the stress of green smoothie making. However, my children really do like it. They will let me put a green base in their cups and then they can finish personalizing their smoothie. They love this. All of us use this set for light blending. It is small, easy to use, ect, without the big blender production. We blend multiple times a day so this is significant for us.

Also, I have found an area this blender does exceptional in. Nut and seed grinding. I make Tahini for Hummus at least twice a week (now.) I'm a single working mom and I like high quality food;I cannot afford $10 bottles of Tahini. When making Tahini at home I would usually spend an hour blending and scraping, blending and working with the consistency. Huge bummer to say the least. Since I had already messed the blender lid up I decided to try making sesame paste for Tahini using the grinding blade. Wow! Who would have ever guessed? I start by dry blending the seeds and then work in sunflower seeds or oil to the consistency I want. I take the blender and shake the stuff around while it is dry, then scrape a few times after the oil goes in. This may sound like excessive effort if you have never made Tahini from the seeds up, but 15 minutes and BAM, Tahini...Oh Joy! Yes, I am glad I still have the blender. The kids enjoy it, I have learned to use it within its limits, and it is a very good nut and seed grinder.
