Play Me, I'm Yours

Albany NY: 2014

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram.  More than 1200 pianos have now been installed in 43 cities across the globe, from Paris to Santiago, bearing the simple invitation Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than six million people worldwide.

The Downtown Albany Business District presented Play Me, I’m Yours from June 13 until July 27 2014.  13 street pianos, decorated by local artists and community groups, were located in parks, squares and other public spaces in Downtown Albany for anyone to play and enjoy. #pianosalbanyny

This website was made for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their communities across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Mary Kensik-Winters and son Ian - Chicago, IL

Hi! We overnighted in Albany on an East Coast trip to tour colleges with our older children. Our youngest son Ian thought it was very cool that there was a piano on the street waiting for anyone to play. He's played piano for 8 years (he's 13) and loved the idea of the random happenstance that was a piano outside and available for anyone to play, anytime. Thanks for the wonderful memory of our stay in Albany!

I have loved this exhibit, both visually as well as musically! I work in downtown Albany. It has been a pleasure to hear people randomly playing the pianos! Even though I play the piano, I was too self-conscious to sit down and play. Kudos to those who did.
