It’s actually very easy to email a text message to a cell phone – in fact it’s as easy as sending any other email – you just need to know the email address of the cell phone.
That’s right – all cell phones on most major cell carriers have an associated email address, and if you know the email address, you can simply send an email to the cell phone!
In almost all cases, you will be sending email to the recipient’s 10-digit phone number (that will be the username) @ the email domain of the carrier.
So, for example, if the recipient has an AT&T cell phone, their phone’s email address will be hosted on AT&T’s “txt.att.net” domain.
Thus, if their telephone number is 123-456-7890, you would send email to 1234567890@txt.att.net. That email would show up as a text message on their cell phone.

It is important to remember that text messages are limited to 140 characters, which means that the recipient will see only the first 140 characters of your message, even if you write something much longer. This is sometimes hard to remember when sending email, as it’s so easy to type a much longer email. So keep it short and sweet.
Here are the text message domains for each of the four major cell phone providers in the United States – AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and Tmobile. In each case, you will use the cell phone’s 10-digit phone number as the “username” (the information to the left of the @ symbol) coupled with using the corresponding domain after (to the right of) the @ symbol:
AT&T: txt.att.net
Sprint: messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: vtext.com
TMobile: tmomail.net
So for the phone number 123-456-7890, you would send email to the following at each carrier:
AT&T: 1234567890@txt.att.net
Sprint: 1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: 1234567890@vtext.com
Tmobile: 1234567890@tmomail.net
