Video Games News: The makers of the hit video game Grand Theft Auto have angered the residents of Dunstable after setting the latest title of the multimillion-selling crime adventure series in their town.

GTA: Dunstable Sparks Outrage
Rockstar Games today announced that GTA 5 will be set on “the mean high street and lethal cul-de-sacs of Dunstable”, leading many residents of the Bedfordshire town to furiously call for the game to be banned.

Children who play this game will end up becoming murderers and rapists,” said community leader Wilson Manshead. “Not because of the Dunstable connection, but because that’s what all video games do to children.”

Rockstar have defended the location, arguing that the game marks a dramatic departure in tone from previous installments. One mission involves driving your Gran to a coffee morning,” said a Rockstar spokesman. “It’s totally up to you if you then go into the nearby RSPCA shop and shoot everyone in the face at point blank range.”

Dunstable residents remain unconvinced. “Faye Tozer from Steps is from Dunstable,” said Gary Cooper, landlord of the town’s Wetherspoons. “Do you think she’s happy that her hometown has been turned into some kind of sick video game crime spree? I doubt it very much.”
