Armoured Vehicles Flying Russian Flag Spotted in Kramatorsk, Slavyansk

Six BMP infantry fighting vehicles have been seized by unidentified individuals and a Russian flag mounted on one of them, the Novosti Kramatorska website reports.

The BMPs apparently entered Kramatorsk as part of the [Ukrainian] counter-terrorist operation.

As we have reported, armed men in camouflage blocked six BMPs. There were also civilians present. Then unknown men in camouflage with weapons at the ready arrived, disarmed the [Ukrainian] security service personnel and drove them off to the village of Ivanovka. Later, three military vehicles flying a Russian flag arrived in Slavyansk.

Petr Terentyev, a journalist on the scene, told Ukrainska Pravda that one of the insurgents informed him that the Ukrainian soldiers had switched sides to join the protesters.

As of 11:00 [on April 16] they [infantry fighting vehicles] were stationed near the White Nights café.

“I am in no doubt that these were Russian soldiers and the Russian secret service,” Terentyev added.

The Russian propaganda channel Life News is calling them the “Donbass Army”.
