The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office have identified the victim in a motorcycle crash in Haleiwa early Saturday morning as 33-year-old Christopher Danley of Honolulu.

Police said speed and alcohol may have been factors in a motorcycle crash that killed Danley near the Weed Circle junction in Haleiwa early at about 12:40 a.m.

Danley lost control of his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle while turning onto Kamehameha Highway from the Weed Circle junction, police said.

The motorcycle collided with a guard rail and Danley was ejected over the guardrail into some bushes.

He sustained major head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

Police closed Kamehameha Highway while Traffic Division officers investigated the crash scene.

The road reopened by about 3:30 a.m.

Police said the death is the 37th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 38 at the same time last year.
