Amazon.co.uk Review
Although it eventually runs out of smart ideas and resorts to a typically explosive finale, this above-average thriller rises above its formulaic limitations on the strength of powerful performances by Samuel L Jackson and Kevin Spacey. Both play Chicago police negotiators with hotshot reputations, but when Jackson's character finds himself falsely accused of embezzling funds from a police pension fund, he's so thoroughly framed that he must take extreme measures to prove his innocence. He takes hostages in police headquarters to buy time and plan his strategy, demanding that Spacey be brought in to mediate with him as an army of cops threatens to attack, and a media circus ensues. Both negotiators know how to get into the other man's thoughts, and this intellectual showdown allows both Spacey and Jackson to ignite the screen with a burst of volatile intensity. Director F Gary Gray is disadvantaged by an otherwise predictable screenplay, but he has a knack for building suspense and is generous to a fine supporting cast, including Paul Giamatti as one of Jackson's high-strung hostages, and the late JT Walsh in what would sadly be his final big-screen role. The Negotiator should have trusted its compelling characters a little more, probing their psyches more intensely to give the suspense a deeper dramatic foundation, but it's good enough to give two great actors a chance to strut their stuff. --Jeff Shannon

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 October 2005For those who has watched the moive this line will be in one of the intense scenes in this thriller!!. Great moives not necessarily win awards, even though this hasnt the complicated 'setting up of a cop', it will keep you on your toes till the end.Super Acting by Samuel L Jackson and Kevin Spacy!,well done. Many say the best part comes right at the end but i deny it!. Its a good moive right from the start with snippets of action where needed. Also great acting from 'Bec' sorry i cant remember the name of him. Samuel belives himself and goes to the very end to find out who took his partner out and whos behind the ....,ok i wont spill it all out for those who haven't watched it. Great Moive. Must See.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2014Product was what I expected. It was a present for my Brother-in-Law after me recommending it and he loved it. Took a few days to arrive however, so don't panic if it doesn't arrive straight away.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 June 2017The Negotiator is a fantastic movie with a great story. Samuel Jackson does an incredible job amongst other actors like Kevin Spacey. I wont spoil the whole story but all you need to know is he is being framed for his work partner murder and is about to be arrested but he decides to take justice in his own hands and figure out who did it by taking people hostage in the upper floors in the police department. Its a very well done underated movie that deserves more credit and on blu ray is even better. Worth every penny. Simply fantastic
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2009wow ! this really keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole film , the suspense is relentless and jackson n spacey are top class in the lead roles . in terms of great thrillers this has to be in the top bracket yet until you see this film it is so easy to overlook because most other thrillers do look more appealing on the cover , it has taken me 11 years to buy this film but it amazed me how good it was , definatley one for your collection .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 February 2012Grab onto something all along the film, its permanent tension unfolds in so many aspects that is difficult to sum it all in one review. By the way the casting is gorgeous. Only thing is some psychological unreal or contested theories of truth telling but besides that this master piece creates great suspense in apple-pie order.
The bonus features are ok but not required or even enjoyable... in my opinion. Enjoy the movie!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2014A brilliant and dynamic film that never comes up for air. It's non stop all the way and you are on the edge of your seat permanently from start to end

5.0 out of 5 stars négociateur
THRILLER HALETANT RELANCE PAR DE NOUVEAUX INDICES DE NOUVELLES REVELATIONS;

5.0 out of 5 stars Verbalduell der Extraklasse!
Extras:
- Sprachen: Deutsch DD5.1, Englisch Dolby Surround, Untertitel: Deutsch
- Making of
- Kinotrailer „Verhandlungssache“
Kaufempfehlung!
