Police Blotter: April 14 – 22

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police

April 14: Electronics were taken from a residence on the 6000 block of Cherrywood Court at 9:32 p.m.

April 15: A white 1995 Honda Accord with Maryland tags was recovered after a traffic accident on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane at 1:03 a.m. A warrant has been obtained for Abukar Enow, 24, of Hyattsville, charging him with motor vehicle theft. 

Rocks were thrown through several windows of residences on the 9100 block of Springhill Court at 5:30 p.m.

Elias Calleja Gallardo, 23, of Springhill Drive was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on Greenbelt Road at Greenway Shopping Center at 9:42 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

An attempted theft of a vehicle occurred on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane.

April 16: Patrick Joe Thomas, 43, of Oxon Hill was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road at 8:27 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

A gray 2005 Nissan Altima with District of Columbia tags, reported stolen through the Prince George's County Police, was recovered using a license plate reader on the 7800 block of Walker Drive. No arrests were made.

April 17: Lupillo Rivera, 27, of Greenbelt was arrested and charged with possession of an open alcohol container on the 9100 block of Edmonston Road at 12:40 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

Salvador Antonio Diez Canseco, 50, of Lanham was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol and hit and run, among other charges after a traffic accident on the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Crescent Road at 2:05 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A green 1992 Honda Accord with Maryland tags, originally taken from the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace, was later recovered by the Anne Arundel Police Department. No arrests were made.

An attempted theft from a vehicle occurred on the 6800 block of Damsel Court. 

The front windows of two cars were broken on the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway.

The front windows of two cars were broken on the 7900 block of Mandan Road.

April 18: Marcus L. Douglas, 41, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and Frankfort Drive at 12:28 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Graffiti was found on the side of a building on the unit block of Parkway at 8:28 a.m.

A white 2009 Toyota Corolla 4D with Maryland tags was taken on the 7200 block of Morrison Drive.

A vehicle was scratched on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court.

Bags and packages were taken from a vehicle on the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway.

An attempted theft of a vehicle occurred on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court. 

April 19: Personal documents were taken from a residence on the unit block of Crescent Road at 4:33 p.m. 

April 20: Carrington Dobgima Nguni, 22, of Lanham was arrested and charged with trespassing on posted property on the 9100 block of Edmonston Terrace at 8:35 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Gerrod Laurice Stevenson, 27, of Greenbelt was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane at 4:58 p.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court commissioner. 

A green 1995 Dodge 2500 with Maryland tags, reported stolen through Bladensburg Police, was recovered using a license plate reader on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court. No arrests were made. 

A camera was taken from a vehicle at 14 Court Laurel Hill Road.

April 21: Tools were taken from a residence on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 6:51 a.m. 

April 22: A house was egged on the 100 block of Greenhill Road at 6:46 a.m.
