Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service announced Monday that one of the force’s officers was charged under the police service act on Jan. 28. He has since been suspended.

The charge follows an investigation by the Toronto Police Service profession standards unit. Thunder Bay Police Service Chief Bob Herman requested that investigation.

Few details have been released, but police say the charge relates to the supervision of a subordinate.

Insp. Dan Taddeo will appear before a hearing officer to face the misconduct charge on Feb. 16, 2011. Police say details surrounding the charge will be made public at that time.
