Two men were wounded, one seriously and one moderately, in a car bombing in south Tel Aviv on Saturday night.Police believe the incident was criminal, an attempted hit on the two victims, brothers Yaniv and Shaul Peretz. The two brothers, aged 27 and 30 respectively, live close to the site of the bombing in the Tel Kabir neighborhood. Both were taken to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon for treatment after the bombing.Police and witnesses at the scene said the two men were inside the car when it exploded outside a neighborhood kiosk, and that the car was moving at the time. The explosion left the car a charred shell and launched chunks of the roof and the bumper several meters away.Shell of vehicle after car bomb went off in south Tel Aviv, Feb 9 (Ben Hartman)A resident of the neighborhood said she heard the explosion from her apartment a few blocks away, but thought it was fireworks being set off in nearby Jaffa.Head of the Yiftah subdistrict Cmdr. David Gez said that police do not know how large the bomb was or when it was affixed to the car. He added that the investigation is being handled by the subdistrict and not the YAMAR Central Investigative unit.
