Mentally challenged woman’s rapist jailed

A man was sentenced to life in prison for raping a woman in Senwabarwana, Limpopo police said.

Lt-Col Ronel Otto said 36-year-old Keetse Mahlodi Ciphus Lelenke was convicted in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

“Three woman went to Lelenke's house in December 2009 to buy earrings from him.”

He then persuaded two of the woman to go on an errand for him.

“Lelenke overpowered and repeatedly raped a then 21-year-old mentally challenged woman.”

Otto said the man was arrested shortly afterwards. - Sapa
