A formation of a groundbreaking partnership between ABC TV, Company B and the Australia Council for the Arts that will screen the live performance of Keating! on ABC2 Wednesday 20 August 2008, at 8pm (EST).
This pioneering initiative showcases the smash hit Keating! with unparalleled access to the performers. Cameras positioned in the front row will capture the excitement of the event at stage level. During intermission, audiences will enjoy live interviews with the performers and creators of this unique musical.
Audiences in eight regional centres around Australia will see free public screenings of this innovative presentation of Keating! via the local digital cinemas. Venues in Port Augusta, Yarram, Hervey Bay, Devonport, Katherine, Wagga Wagga, Singleton and Albany will experience ABC2 Live presents Keating! live via satellite as it is performed in the Sydney Seymour Centre.
Keating! is the creation of composer, performer and writer Casey Bennetto and now under the umbrella of Sydney's Company B and the direction of Neil Armfield. Company B has since taken Keating! onto a record-breaking four sold out seasons in Sydney hot on the heels of winning the 2007 Helpmann Awards for Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.
