BAGHDAD, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- Four Iraqi soldiers were killed and three were
severely injured after attack by armed men on a checkpoint in Al-Nabaie area
north of the capital, Iraqi security source said on Tuesday.
The source told KUNA that armed clashes took place at the checkpoint.
The source added Iraqi military and police forces conducted a wide search
operation in the area and surrounding area, in attempt to find the culprits.
Meanwhile, an Iraqi military source said that seven soldiers were killed
and injured in clashes with armed men south of Takrit area, adding that
Baghdad has sent a special force unit to the province.
The source added that in preliminary estimates the clashes resulted in the
killing of a Colonel and three soldiers, including the injuries of three
