While most of us are eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Modern Warfare franchise, what the hell are we supposed to do between now and November? Well, we could keep replaying the first title (most of us have probably been doing that anyway) or we could -- you guessed it -- wildly speculate on what we want to see next! Infinity Ward has been pretty hush-hush about the details surrounding the new release, but with a little luck the team's been listening to its fans during the whole development cycle.

Map Maker Mode

Why not? This would be a great addition as wecould rebuild classic first person shooter maps and be able to play with them with MW controls. GoldenEye's Facility, anyone?

Scale the Three Grenade Perk Down to Two

I thought the perk for two primary grenades in World at War was just about right, and the three in Modern Warfare was just one too many. You can blanket a significant portion of a map with three grenades, so there are occasional instances where bullets aren't being fired much and grenades are just high-fiving in the air on their way across to the other team. When you have an entire team of six people lobbing three grenades each, you don't need to do the math to guess that things get a bit excessive. That, or maybe an "umbrella perk" if they decided to leave it and make another map like Wet Work.

Two Weapon Perks and/or a Silenced Sniper Mode

I loved the fact that I could keep my location a secret with a silenced weapon and UAV jammer in the first MW game, but hated the aiming without the red dot site. I understood this has something to do with ranking up your different weapons but there's no reason that you couldn't have a red dot site and a silencer on a gun. I'd also like to see a silenced sniper rifle. It's one of those simple things that could make help bring the gameplay to a whole new level.

A Map that Actually Requires Night Vision

Wet Work is the only map that comes close to the need for night vision in multiplayer, and yet I don't use it. I can clearly see everything I need to get the job done. I'd like to see a map that's pitch black and played completely through night vision goggles. Some of the best moments in the single-player campaign are when the lights are off and all you see is your laser site and the enemies moving in around you. And seeing as how Infinity Ward is bundling actual night vision goggles with the Prestige Edition version of the game, it'd tie in the whole experience even better.

An Updated Assist Point System

Treyarch implemented an excellent idea in the assist point system in World at War that I'd like to see carried over to MW2. It worked on the premise that you're awarded points based on the damage you deal even if you don't make the final kill. I thought it was a smart way of incorporating teamwork into the game. This definitely helps to make things feel a little less pointless when you're doing 90% of the work in a heated deathmatch and your opponent gets hit with one random bullet that actually makes the kill.
