Thanks to everyone that made it out last night to our 4th Mobile Twin Cities meeting! We had a great turnout and I appreciate getting a chance to meet everyone that was there. I hope you learned, networked and enjoyed meeting to discuss everything mobile here in the Twin Cities.

A BIG THANK YOU to Breon Nagy ( http://www.breon.com/ ) for recording the event and streaming it realtime and archiving it on YouStream.tv. Videos from the meeting are archived and available at:

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/MobileTC

If time and interest permits, I would like to keep the streaming and recording of presentations going. Let me know if you find the video a nice feature and something you use to catchup and review the presentations.

Here's a quick summary of the meeting notes:

1. Mark Jenkins gave a great presentation on "Knowing Your Customer", which showed many of the ways that developers and product managers can take a closer look at WHO you should be selling your mobile product to and other avenues and markets to that you can reach. Very insightful and I highly suggest watching the video of his presentation.

2. Justin Grammens (me) shared some of the tidbits that I learned from the Google/IO.

3. Frank Powell passed out a survey for the members of the group to take on their technical background. The hope is that members of the group might be able to seek resources from people how have skills in those areas through the group. Breon Nagy suggested using Google Forms to collect more information. It would be kind of nice I think to have protected page where members of our mailing list are able to see the names and skill sets of others in the group. Another way to handle this would be to post if you have any needs to the group and let the members of the group reply if they have skills in those areas. Thoughts?

Thanks to Ernest Grumbles ( http://unhub.com/ernestgrumbles ) for providing beverages for the meeting and of course our great friends at Refactr ( http://refactr.com ) for hosting.

Next month Kyle has offered to talk about "What Symbian has up their sleeve". I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PRESENTER! If you are interested in talking about any topic related to mobile... Maybe someone wants to talk about Palm Pre or Blackberry Storm? Please let me know. I'm also looking for someone to sponsor food and/or drinks.

Any questions, please let me know and check out the archived videos if you missed the meeting.

See you on July 21st!

Thanks,
Justin

Just a quick note that Mark has posted his slides from the meeting in
the "files" section of our google group. You can link to directly from
here:

I have updated the homepage with the date for July and moved the
details of last month into the "archive" section, there's a link at
the top of the website or you can get to it from at
http://mobiletwincities.com/archive.html

For next month we have:
Kyle Cunningham - presenting on Nokia and "what's up their sleeve?"
I'm looking for another presenter... please let me know if you are
interested in talking about anything mobile related. We do still have
the "fishbowl" discussion on native v.s. write once run anywhere we
can do if needed and I've got a few other presentation ideas I can do
to fill the space, but as I have stressed before, mobile is big space,
lots of platforms, lots of angles and I'd like these meetings to cover
a lot of different topics, so don't be shy!
