Ryan Gosling had "two of the greatest girlfriends of all time" in Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams.
The 'Drive' actor - who dated Sandra for a year until 2003 and saw his two-year romance with Rachel end in 2007 - is currently too focused on his career to date and says he hasn't found anyone who could "top" the romance he had with his former flames.
He said: "There's interest but I'm in a committed relationship with film. I'm giving as much to it as a marriage.
"I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time. I haven't met anybody who could top them."
Ryan believes both relationships ended because both he and his girlfriends work in Hollywood.
He explained in an interview with The Times newspaper: "Showbusiness is the bad guy. When both people are in showbusiness it's too much showbusiness. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow."
The 30-year-old star also admitted he would love to have children and will happily give up his movie career when the time comes to start a family.
He said: "I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies. When someone comes along I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen."
